All styles of playing, all age groups, from beginner to advanced levels.

I have over 20 years of drum teaching experience, including private lessons, tertiary tuition, masterclasses and group workshops. I teach students of all ability levels across a wide range of genres with a focus on technique and body mechanics as applied to the drum kit. I am now accepting students for drum lessons in Melbourne at my Flemington studio.

If you give less than 24 hours notice, the full lesson fee will apply. However, if you reschedule your lesson to take place within 48 hours of the original lesson time, no charge will be made.

If you make a late cancellation and do not make an alternative appointment, payment in full is expected within 48 hours. If payment is not made, an administration fee may apply. I am currently offering online drum lessons via Zoom and Skype. This will enable students to study from home or wherever they are in the world. If you need to travel a long way to get to your lesson, this could be an option for you. You will need either Zoom or Skype software and a computer/device that has a webcam and microphone. Your setup can include your drum kit or simply working from a practice pad is fine also. Contact Steve here for online lesson inquiries.

Give the give of sick beats all year round. Know someone who’s a tap-aholic? Someone who’s always wanted to play the drums but never got around to it? Or maybe you already know a drummer and are stumped about what to buy them for their birthday? Get them some drum lesson gift vouchers!

I cater for all ages and abilities, and you can buy an individual lesson or block of lessons to suit your budget. Head over to the contact page, send me a message and we’ll get the ball rolling!

  • What to bring to your first lesson? If it’s your first drum lesson ever it’s a good idea for you to at least bring sticks. It’s recommended that you have a practice pad for after your first lesson to practice the things you have learned in your lesson.
  •  If you have had lessons previously bring in any material that you have worked through… books, handouts etc. so we can get a clear idea of what you have studied and where we can go to from there.
  •  For more info about Steve go to the About Steve page.
